Thank you! And Thank You, 2020!
Well, this has been one hell of a year. You made it through, if not smoothly then hopefully with a modicum of awareness and gentleness. For me, it was a series of highs and lows, moments I adored and wanted to hold close and others that were excruciating and that made me want to bolt. In all, I have been grateful for the full catastrophe.
One thing that keeps coming up for me is how this year really amplified everything. Personally, professionally, socially, politically. Perhaps it was the combination of our collective stillness, reduced mobility, and greater opportunity to reflect. Perhaps it was the greater need for comfort alongside the reduced access to our familiar sources of soothing. Perhaps it was the lack of connection to others during a time we needed one another most. Whatever it is, I hope it helped you see something about yourself. About your reality. About the reality of the lives of others. About how your mind works. About what your body does for you.
I also want to take this opportunity to thank you for letting me into your life. For trusting me to support you in even the smallest way on your path to finding peace, joy, and gentleness with your body, heart, and mind. I am so confident in your intelligence and judgment and so hopeful that once you clear away the noise of dieting and self-aggression, your unique gifts will continue to make this world a saner and more compassionate place to live. We all benefit from that.
2021 already promises to be an exciting year. With vaccines on the way, a new president taking the helm, and the perspective we gained from 2020, I think we have much to look forward to. I’ll be sharing some of the exciting things on the horizon for me in the next few months.
Last February, when I took my business fully virtual and let go of my office space, I decreased my prices. This year, I will continue to offer those lower prices of $270 for an initial 75-minute assessment and $170 for 45-minute follow-ups. I realize this is still out of range for many people, but it is the best I can do to make this work more accessible and still make a living. And I’ll continue to noodle on how to make Intuitive Eating, meditation, and mindfulness more widely accessible to all people as life starts to move back toward some semblance of normalcy.
Please find my updated office policy below with information about confidentiality, working with treatment teams, session time, between-session support, payment, cancelation policy, and more. I have created this document and updated it regularly so that everything about the boundaries of our work is on the table and mutually understood.
Signing off – and I truly mean this – I send you my love and great respect. I wish you the best in 2021 and hope we can stay connected.
