Anger can feel like a force of nature — sudden, overwhelming, impossible to control

In this new video, I explore how anger is like a rip tide: powerful, disorienting, and most dangerous when we try to fight it. But just like in the ocean, there is another way.

Instead of swimming against it, we learn to let the current carry us.
We stay with the emotion, without reacting.
We trust that it will pass — because it always does.

This isn’t about denying anger. Or “fixing” it.

It’s about being with it skillfully — allowing its truth without letting it hijack our voice or our values.

Because here’s the thing:

We are all capable of love.
We are all capable of harm.
And when we can meet anger with awareness — and even tenderness — we begin to break the cycle.

Using the metaphor of anger as a rip tide helps us:

  • Stay with strong emotions without being consumed

  • Refrain from impulsive reactions that create regret

  • Remember that impermanence applies even to our rage

  • Root ourselves in lovingkindness, even when we feel lost

  • And find meaning in our everyday, imperfect, deeply human lives

I hope this video feels like a hand on your shoulder — steadying, not shaming.
